Mark has been teaching kite sports since 2003 in many locations from Cyprus and Egypt to The Isle of Tiree and Aberdeen. Before kite sports Mark had been instructing a range of outdoor pursuits such as climbing, mountaineering, caving, kayaking, white water rafting and mountain biking. As well as kiting and teaching kiting Mark also worked as beach crew and competition judge at the British Kite Surfing Association (BKSA) competitions in 2005. Currently an IKO Level 2 Senior instructor Mark is now working towards becoming an IKO Examiner. As well as being a keen kitesurfer and kite landboarder he is also pushing his buggy freestyle skills with upwind 360 surface passes and has recently qualified for his buggy race pilots license. Winter sees him making the most of the weather here in Scotland, when he can be found snowkiting whenever conditions allow.

tel 07981 793066 Maggie has also been instructing kiting since 2003, working alongside Mark. She has a similar background of instructing outdoor pursuits.
Although Maggie has competed in kitesurfing and kite landboarding over the past few years, her best result came on the Snowkite World Championship Tour winter 2007/2008, where she was ranked as the Best Performing Woman overall. She also did well at the Ozone Snowkite Masters 2008, winning both the women's freestyle and race (snowboard category), and being placed as the second woman overall. At the OSKM she even got a 5th place in the men's best trick competition. Maggie also took time out from instructing in 2005 to compete in the BKSA championships, finishing ranked 5th overall in the pro women’s fleet. Scotland is not renowed for producing world class snowsports enthusiasts, but Maggie puts her success down to being able to transfer her skills between kitesurfing, kite landboarding and snowkiting. She can be out practising whatever the conditions, and reckons that the adaptability this breeds helps you quickly get used to whatever board you are going to compete on.

tel 07981 793066 John has joined the Synergy Kitesports team for 2008, look out for him kiting at Nairn whenever the wind is up! He's friendly, enthusiastic and approachable, and is always willing to offer help or advice. Over to you John:
My name is John Robinson and have now been kiting for just over 4 1/2years. I started flying small fixed bridle powerkites and soon caught the Bug . Once I mastered flying the kite, I then moved onto a mountainboard and Ozone Depower Kites, which I learned with assistance from Dom Moore & Vicki down in the Skypark in Cornwall where I holidayed with my wife, son and daughter. I took what they had shown me back to Nairn Beach and have been practising ever since with Mark & Maggie to refine my landboarding skillls. I have now started learning in the water also; I completed my IKO level 1 with Synergy Kitesports last Autumn and hope to be up and riding this summer. I am a keen skier and would like to progress my kiting skills to the snow. In my opinion the Ozone Access, Frenzy and Manta open a whole new world to Freestyle Kiting for everyone from beginner to advanced level. all the best John
