What is Powerkiting?
Powerkiting is a 100% natural wind powered sport where the participant uses a powerkite to harness the power of the wind.
Flying a powerkite can be both relaxing and exhilarating and is suitable for participants of all ages and levels of fitness.
Whether your aim is to spend a relaxing day with the kids, a fun afternoon with friends and family or an extreme session of big airs and tricks at the beach, flying a powerkite offers something to everyone.
The important thing is to have fun. This does not mean that there are no dangers involved. The wind is an unpredictable force of nature which can cause serious injury should you try to fly a powerkite in the wrong conditions with inadequate knowledge and skill.
Proper training together with a good knowledge and understanding of wind and weather can help reduce these risks so that you and others do not come to harm.
Learning to fly a powerkite is also the foundation to all other kitesports as this is where you will learn and master all of the basic knowledge and skills that will help you progress more quickly and safely.
Whether you want to learn to kite buggy, kite landboard, kite surf or snow kite, mastering your skills with a powerkite will enable you to progress more quickly and safely in your chosen kite sport.
