Kite Landboard Lessons
Landboarding is a progression from powerkiting which uses the power of the kite to propel you along on four wheels. Once you have mastered the basics you can develop the skills needed to cruise along beaches or perform big air freestyle tricks.
Beginner Kite Landboard Course
Prerequisites: IKO Powerkite Level 1 or 2 or similar experience as a minimum
Who the course is for
If you have done at least a half day Powerkite course and would like to try using your new kite skills to power yourself along on a landboard then this is the course for you.
If you have tried to get moving on a landboard and are struggling with starting and stopping under control or maintaining your ride the Beginner Kite Landboard course would also be suitable for you.
What the course covers
These are some of the skills that can be covered. The exact content will depend on participants preferences and rate of progression
- Site risk assessment for kite landboarding
- Independent kite set up and pre-flight checks
- Recap of intermediate flying skills
- Introduction to the board and pre-ride checks
- Moving the board using the kite power
- Stopping under control
- Maintaining the ride edge control
- Change of direction
- Point to point riding
What's included in the price
- 3 hours of tuition
- Use of all equipment

Synergy Kitesports teach Kite Landboarding lessons 7 days per week all year round, weather permitting.
Prices depend on when in the week you would like your lesson, and if you are coming in as an individual for 1:1 tuition or if you are coming with at least one other person to make a group.
The Beginner Kite Landboard course is 3 hours in length.
For Kite Landboard training courses we teach a maximum of 4 participants per instructor.
What you need to bring
- Sturdy footwear with good grip on the soles
- Clothing appropriate to the weather
- Gloves and hat may be needed any time of year
- Waterproofs are advised
- Snacks and a drink if you require
Intermediate Kite Landboard Course
Prerequisites: IKO Powerkite Levels 1 & 2 and the Beginner Kite Landboard Course, or similar experience
Who the course is for

If you have done some kite landboarding and can get moving, turn and stop under control then the Intermediate Kite Landboard Course will introduce you to some more advanced skills.
What the course covers
These are some of the skills that can be covered. The exact content will depend on participants preferences and rate of progression
- Riding upwind and downwind
- Power slides
- Turn without stopping
- Riding switch
- Intro to Jumping
- Use of kite harness

Who the course is for

If you are competant at riding in all directions, turning, riding switch, and are starting to jump then advanced kite landboard course will improve your jumping and give you more tricks to work on. Prerequisites: IKO Powerkite Levels 1 & 2 and all skills outlined in the Intermediate Kite Landboard Course

- Improving your landing
- Perfecting jumps
- Landing toeside
- Board Grabs
- Back Loops
- Front Loops
