-
A great excuse to get out and enjoy the awesome beaches up here in the NE of Scotland
There’s a reason why kitesurfers tend to be such laid back and friendly people: they know that whatever happens they need only to head out onto the water and they’ll have a grin on their face.Steering their kite to harness the power of the wind kitesurfers can glide over the waves and launch themselves high into the air.
Needing only a small board, a kite, a harness and safety equipment all a kitesurfer’s kit can be carried on their back. The freedom the sport offers, both in one’s riding style and the minimal equipment, is one of the factors in its massive worldwide growth.
Although the learning curve is steep the rewards are great: unlike many other sports you can start doing tricks as soon as you are riding proficiently. Experience with sports such as snowboarding, sailing or surfing will aid your learning and you can always apply your skills to kite landboarding or kite snowboarding.
