Kite Buggy Lessons
Kite buggying is a progression from powerkiting which uses the power of the kite to propel you along in a three wheeled seated buggy. Once you have mastered the basics you can develop the skills needed to race at speeds of up to 50miles per hour or perform low and high level freestyle tricks
Beginner Kite Buggy Course
Prerequisites: Half day powerkite course (IKO Powerkite Level 1 or 2) or similar experience, as a minimum
Who the course is for

The Beginner Kite Buggy Course is suitable for those who have never tried putting their kite skills with a buggy before, or for those who are struggling to get moving and stopping under control
What the course covers
This is a guide as to what can be covered in the session, the exact contents will depend on the participants' preferences and rate of progression
- Site risk assessment for kite buggying
- Independent kite set up and pre-flight checks
- Recap of intermediate flying skills
- Buggy safety rules
- Introduction to the buggy and pre-ride checks
- Moving the buggy using the kite power
- Stopping under control
- Controlling speed and direction
- Turning
- Point to point riding

- 3 hours of tuition
- Use of all equipment

Synergy Kitesports teach Kite Buggying lessons 7 days per week all year round, weather permitting.
Prices depend on when in the week you would like your lesson, and if you are coming in as an individual for 1:1 tuition or if you are coming with at least one other person to make a group.
The Beginner Kite Buggy course is 3 hours in length.
For Kite Buggy training courses we teach a maximum of 4 participants per instructor.
What you need to bring
- Sturdy footwear with good grip on the soles
- Clothing appropriate to the weather
- Gloves and hat may be needed any time of year
- Waterproofs are advised
- Snacks and a drink if you require
Intermediate Buggy Course
IKO Powerkite Levels 1 & 2 and the Beginner Buggy Course, or similar experience
Who the course is for

The Intermediate Buggy Course is for those who can ride along in a buggy, turning and stopping under control, and would like to progress their skills from there.
What the course covers
This is a guide as to what can be covered in the session, the exact contents will depend on the participants' preferences and rate of progression
- Tacking upwind
- Bottom turns
- Power slides
- Riding backwards
- Downwind riding
- Use of kite harness

Prerequisites: You need to be proficient in all the flying skills outlined in IKO Powerkite Levels 1&2 and the Intermediate Kite Buggy Course
Who the course is for

If you can ride forwards and backwards under control in a buggy, and stop, turn and power slide then you are ready to move onto the Advanced Buggy Course.

This is a guide as to what can be covered in the session, the exact contents will depend on the participants' preferences and rate of progression
- 2 Wheel riding
- Reverse 180 Ground Spin (down wind & upwind)
- Front 180 Ground Spin (down wind & upwind)
- Front 360 Ground Spin (down wind & upwind)
- Reverse 360Ground Spin (down wind & upwind)
