For anyone looking to snowkite a kite snowboard is the most suitable route to go down. It is possible to use a normal snowboard for snowkiting, but design features good for downhill riding can make life harder wihen putting the board with a kite. Examples of these would be that downhill snowboards are mostly directional (biased to riding with a specific foot forward most of the time), which can make life harder for snowkiting. As with landboarding or kitesurfing you often want to ride the board in both directions, which is where a twintip comes in. Most twintip downhill snowboards are designed for park riding, so not so suitable for riding in powder, which is where you will often be with the kite! Snowboards specific for park riding tend to be short to make rotations and tricks easier, however a short board is not so good in deep snow as you will sink or dig the nose in easily. Kite snowboards have much less of a side-cut than downhill boards, this is because when kiting you use the board's rail more than when riding downhill, so it means more of the edge is in contact with the snow, making riding upwind and edging for tricks easier. Kite snowboards are designed to be suitable for riding with and without a kite, so if you're looking for one board to take on your winter holidays and use with and without a kite, look no further!
